About Tether
Tether (USDT) is the world's largest stablecoin — a token pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. It has been issued by Tether Limited since 2014 and is backed by reserves consisting mostly of US Treasury bills. USDT primarily serves as the "dollar of the crypto world": traders park capital in it between trades, and it forms the base pair on most exchanges.
Stablecoins don't appreciate — their point is stability. What's worth watching is mainly the market capitalization (how many dollars have flowed into crypto) and any short-term deviations from the $1 peg, which signal market stress.
