41.0 %Far from the top
Pi Cycle Top tracks two moving averages – the 111-day (short) and the 350-day multiplied by two (long). When the short one crosses above the long one, the indicator has historically marked Bitcoin cycle tops with remarkable precision (2013, 2017, 2021).
The name comes from the ratio 350 / 111 ≈ π. The 111 DMA currently sits at 41.0 % of the 350 DMA × 2 value. As this ratio approaches 100 %, it signals a growing risk of a cyclical top.
What does the current state “Far from the top” mean?
- Far from the top – ratio below 75 %. The short average is well below the long one; the market isn't overheated.
- Top in sight – ratio 75–90 %. Short-term momentum is building; caution is warranted.
- Close to the top – ratio 90–100 %. Historically a risky zone a few weeks before the top.
- Cycle top (signal) – ratio ≥ 100 %, i.e. the 111 DMA crosses the 350 DMA × 2 from below. The classic cycle-top signal.
The indicator is a guide only – past performance does not guarantee future results.
