What Firefish is

Firefish is a Czech peer-to-peer marketplace where bitcoin holders borrow cash against their sats instead of having to sell them. The collateral sits in a multisig escrow directly on Bitcoin — the platform never trades with it, never lends it out and never holds it under sole control. On the other side are investors providing cash at a fixed interest rate.

This page shows the live state of the Firefish market: every open offer carries an amount, a maturity of 3 to 24 months and an annual rate. From those we compute the median, the volume-weighted rate and the range — a yield curve for bitcoin collateral you cannot read anywhere else. Figures stay in the original currency of each offer.

Rates differ substantially between currencies: the koruna tends to be cheaper than the euro because it is offered mainly by domestic investors. Loans typically go up to half the value of the pledged bitcoin, so a price drop may require topping up the collateral.
