Where the revenue comes from
The basis is hashprice: what one TH/s earns per day. That number already contains the block subsidy, the fees inside blocks and network difficulty, so the calculator does not have to model the network — it takes the figure from the terminal, where it is computed daily from real hashrate and fee volume.
It only holds for today, though. Difficulty trends upward, so the same machine will mine noticeably less in a year even if bitcoin's price stands still. The "year" row in the table is an upper bound under today's conditions, not a forecast — and every four years a halving cuts the block subsidy in half.
Not included: the electrical hookup, cooling, noise, or the machine ageing out of relevance. Electricity price is the variable that decides everything, which is why there is a break-even row telling you the rate above which mining stops paying.
