About Quant
Quant is atypical among crypto projects: it has no blockchain of its own. Its Overledger product is a software layer through which enterprise systems — banks, payment institutions — connect to several chains at once through a single API, without handling each chain's differences.
The company was founded in 2018 by Gilbert Verdian, who previously worked on cybersecurity for the UK government and Australian healthcare. The project appears consistently in central bank digital currency pilots, where connecting legacy systems to new ones is the main obstacle.
The QNT token acts as a licence key: developers and companies must hold it to use Overledger. Holding is therefore tied to operations rather than securing a network — meaning demand for the token depends on the number of customers, not the number of transactions.
