About Pudgy Penguins
PENGU is the token of the Pudgy Penguins NFT collection, created in 2021 and turned after a change of ownership into one of the few NFT projects with a real business off-chain. Pudgy Toys plush figures sell in US chains such as Walmart and Target, each carrying a code into a digital app.
The token was airdropped in December 2024 to NFT holders and the wider community, and runs on Solana, Ethereum and other networks. It serves as a community and brand token, not a share of toy revenue.
The project is interesting for trying to build a brand out of a picture collection and monetise it conventionally — through licensing and physical goods. The token's value, though, stays tied to attention and market mood rather than that brand's results.
