About Morpho
Morpho is a lending protocol built on a different principle than Aave or Compound. Instead of one large pool where the risk of all collateral mixes together, it creates isolated markets: each has one collateral, one borrowed asset and its own parameters. When one market fails, the rest are untouched.
Above those markets sit vaults, which decide on depositors' behalf which markets capital goes to. A depositor therefore does not pick the risk directly but picks a vault curator — and that curator's judgement is what the yield and the safety rest on.
The protocol's base layer is deliberately immutable and very small, which shrinks the surface for bugs. Risk moves upward instead, into curator decisions and the oracle configuration of individual markets.
