About Kaspa
Kaspa is a proof-of-work network launched in 2021 that addresses the old trade-off between speed and security. Bitcoin must space blocks far apart because blocks found simultaneously cancel each other out. Instead of a chain, Kaspa uses a blockDAG structure with the GHOSTDAG protocol, where simultaneous blocks are not discarded — all of them are placed into a common ordering.
This allows several blocks per second while keeping mining. Kaspa therefore presents itself as an attempt to give Bitcoin speed without abandoning proof-of-work.
Distribution was unusually fair: no presale, no allocation for the team or investors, and emission declines smoothly every month instead of a step halving. The project also has no company or foundation in the usual sense, which means less risk of central intervention but also less capacity for development and marketing.
