About Global Dollar
USDG is a dollar stablecoin issued by Paxos Digital Singapore, licensed as a Major Payment Institution by Singapore's central bank, the MAS. It is fully redeemable one-for-one for dollars and backed by cash and cash equivalents.
It differs in distribution model. The Global Dollar Network consortium formed around USDG, sharing reserve yield with partners — exchanges and payment firms that offer the token to their users. It is a response to USDT and USDC, where the issuer keeps the yield.
The choice of Singapore is not incidental: its stablecoin framework is among the most developed and gives projects legal certainty the US environment long failed to offer.
