About Ether.fi
Ether.fi is an Ethereum liquid staking protocol: deposit ETH, receive the eETH token that can be used across DeFi while staking rewards accrue. It differs from competitors in its key model — the depositor retains control of the withdrawal key, so the node operator cannot move the funds alone.
The protocol also positions itself in restaking via EigenLayer, where the same ETH secures additional services alongside Ethereum and earns extra reward for it. Risk grows with it, though: funds can be slashed in several systems at once.
The ETHFI token is the protocol's governance token, not a claim on staking yield — that belongs to eETH holders. Distinguishing the two matters in liquid staking, because they are easily confused.
