About Cosmos Hub
Cosmos is not one blockchain but a toolkit for building blockchains that can talk to each other. The Cosmos SDK is the construction set, Tendermint consensus provides instant finality, and the IBC protocol moves tokens and messages between networks without a central bridge. Dozens of well-known chains are built on it, including Celestia, dYdX and Injective.
The Cosmos Hub, whose token is ATOM, is only one of those networks — the first and oldest. That is also the token's long-standing problem: the ecosystem's value grows but need not flow into ATOM, because every chain has its own token and does not need the hub to function.
The answer to that is Interchain Security, where smaller chains rent security from Cosmos Hub validators and pay for it. How much of it is actually used is the crux of the argument over ATOM's long-term value.
